Your adventure begins as you meet your knowledgeable guide at the designated meeting point. From there, you’ll set off on a leisurely walk through the bustling streets, passing by centuries-old buildings and absorbing the unique blend of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian architecture.
As you explore the vibrant Baščaršija, you’ll have the opportunity to taste an array of traditional Bosnian dishes. Indulge in cevapi, a beloved Bosnian specialty consisting of grilled minced meat served with freshly baked somun bread, accompanied by a dollop of creamy kaymak cheese. Immerse yourself in the flavors of burek, a flaky pastry filled with either cheese, meat, or spinach, providing a delightful combination of textures and tastes.
No food tour in Sarajevo would be complete without trying Bosnian coffee, a ritual that dates back centuries. Savor the rich, aromatic brew, brewed slowly in a traditional copper džezva and served in a small, ornate cup. We’ll meet in front of the Sarajevo City Hall. There we will talk about history, culture and food. Sarajevo City Hall, called Vijećnica, is a symbol of Sarajevo’s architectural beauty.
In Street of Food or Brdavadžiluk Street we will go in one of the restaurants and try traditional bosian meals.
Coopersmith Street or Kazandžiluk Street is the oldest street in the city. You will learn about crafts but also about how to drink traditional Bosnian coffee.
Sebilj is a wooden fountain – one of the most popular symbols of Baščaršija. From that place, you will also see the White Fortress and hear the legend about the name of Sarajevo, which is in correlation with that mysterious fortress.
Next stop is the Old Orthodox. The Old Orthodox church is one of the most important historical monuments and one of the oldest churches in Sarajevo.
After the Old Orthodox church, we will see a complex of Ottoman governor Gazi Husrev-bey. The complex contains a mosque, a school madrasa, and a clock tower.
Next, you will see the Jewish museum. This museum is situated in the oldest synagogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina. ncover the captivating stories of resilience and heritage of Sephardic Jews in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We will end our tour in one of the Old Town’s cafes, drinking traditional coffee, and talking.
Food is not included in the price due to the possibility of choosing between dishes, and you pay food on the spot, in restaurant.
Traditional Bosnian coffee is included in the price.
