When you get to the airport, a taxi stand is located right outside the terminal building. Reaching the city center by taxi is easy and rather quick. Select only authorized taxis with a functional taximeter. Depending on traffic, the trip often takes 20 to 30 minutes. The usual cab rate, excluding any additional fees for luggage or waiting time, is about 15-20 BAM (Bosnian Convertible Mark), though prices can vary significantly.

Taking the airport shuttle bus, which runs frequent trips between the airport and Sarajevo’s city center, is another convenient option. The shuttle bus runs on a timetable that coincides with airplane arrivals, and it is positioned directly outside the terminal building. Depending on traffic, the trip normally takes 30 to 40 minutes. One-way tickets can be obtained from the driver directly or through the information desk at the airport for about 5 to 10 BAM.

Sarajevo has a well-developed public transport system, and Bus Line 36 connects the airport to the city center. Buses operate frequently throughout the day, and the journey takes around 30 to 40 minutes. There is also a tram. Due the renovation of tramway tram operates from Ilidža to Čengić Vila. From Čengić Vila, passengers can transfer to a bus that will take them to Baščaršija. The tram and bus combination provides an efficient way to navigate from the airport to the city center. The journey duration can vary but typically takes approximately 40 to 50 minutes. The cost of a single bus ticket is approximately 1.60 BAM and can be purchased from the driver or at kiosks located near the bus stops.
